Hydraulic Tilt Support Frame
Working with both The Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin this frame was designed for the purpose of transporting satellite solar panels to various process centers both domestic and abroad. Being the part sits more than 14 ft wide a tilt frame was needed to maneuver the panels and accommodate different size doorways at each center. The unit was designed using a solid modeling software (Solid Works) and was superimposed in the layout of each building and the belly of a C-17 Globe Master which was used to transport the panels abroad. This ensured proper clearance, so the frame and crate could pass through and rest at each respective staging point. The frame has an on-board battery operated hydraulic pump with 2-way cylinders and a manual scissor lift system.
